This piece was created in response to a call for submission by the prominent KZNSA Art Gallery located in Durban. The theme was simply “post” and the artist decided to address postpartum depression in mothers. While the art was ostensibly shortlisted for display in the gallery, many of the committee of judges felt that it was not a male’s prerogative to address the issues of woman and the artwork was embargoed from display, effectively disqualifying the piece from inclusion.
